July 18, 2013, at 12:29 A.M., the Pulaski Police Department received a call from Lewis Gale Hospital – Pulaski reporting that they had a victim of a stabbing incident in the emergency room. Officers responded and interviewed Michael B. Koert, 28 years of age, who had suffered a stabbing wound to his back. Mr. Koert was transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and his condition is unknown.
The initial investigation into the incident revealed that a physical altercation between the victim and three suspects occurred in the street in the 900 block of Randolph Avenue. The suspects fled the scene but were later located by officers in the 700 block of Monroe Avenue.
The process of the investigation resulted in a search warrant being served at the suspects’ location. This search resulted in the recovery of illegal narcotics. The following suspects have been arrested for the following offenses:
Andrew M. Hall, III – 27 yoa - of Dublin, VA. – Assault & Battery
Christopher K. Hardin – 28 yoa – Pulaski, VA – Assault & Battery
Matthew R. Hetherington – 26 yoa – Pulaski, VA – Aggravated Malicious Wounding
Officers and/or investigative personnel were on the scene of the arrest and search until 8:53 A.M. All of the suspects were committed to the NRV Regional Jail and held without bond. The investigation is continuing and additional criminal charges are probable.
