Field Training Program Print E-mail

The Field Training Program is designed to assist new officers in transitioning from academic training to field applications.  The program is utilized to provide on-the-job training for newly appointed officers in a structured and supervised manner.

After basic law enforcement academy, officers are assigned to a Filed Training Officer on a Squad for a minimum of 16 weeks.  Officers ride with the Field Training Officer for the first 16 days of field training, and then they are assigned to drive.

Officers with prior law enforcement experience will be required to complete a minimum of 6 weeks of field training with an assigned Field Training Officer.

Officers must successfully complete the field training program to maintain employment with the Pulaski Police Department.
