April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and we want you to be safe behind the wheel. If you text and drive you increase your chances for a crash 23 times. Did you know that the most dangerous part of your day is the time you’re driving? Think about where your focus is when you’re driving; is it on the road and where you are going? Or do you spend too much time on activities that can distract you? In 2009 nearly 5,500 people died and nearly 500,000 people were injured due to distracted driving crashes. What can you do? Change your behavior, put your phone down or turn it off. Limit stressful conversations. Avoid changing the radio unless you’re stopped. Also, tell others about the dangers of driving distracted.
