The Pulaski Police Department recognizes its employee’s are the foundation of our agency and their ability to professionally perform daily operations represents the dedication and devotion to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski. The Department also recognizes specific acts of bravery, distinguished service or notable accomplishment that entitle employees to be individually recognized for their actions or accomplishments.

Medal of Valor

Presented to a member of the force who performs an outstanding act in the line of duty with risk involved.

Combat Cross

Awarded to officers of the force who performs an individual act of heroism at imminent personal hazard of life in combat with an armed adversary.

Gallantry Star

Presented to the member of the force for an act of distinguished bravery in the arrest of a person who is a major threat to the welfare of the community and/or the officer.

Life Saving Award

Awarded to officers who perform an act in the line of duty, which through disregard of personal safety or prompt and alert reaction, results in saving a life.

Mayor’s Award

Presented to a member of the force for the achievement of courage and high quality in carrying out the mission of Government; presented by an elected Official of a community to select individuals his discretion.

Distinguished Service

Awarded to an officer of the force for performing a highly unusual accomplishment under adverse conditions with some degree of hazard to life and limb to the nominee or where death or injury to a third party is prevented.

Officer of the Year

Presented to a member of the force for a highly creditable accomplishment bringing public acclaim to the Officer, his/her Department and the Law Enforcement profession as a result of training and devotion to duty or service to the public.

Shift / Division Officer of the Year

Presented to a member of the force a creditable act in the line of duty, which meets some, but not all of the requirements for other medals, and is unusual in nature, showing initiative and accomplishment.

Top Gun

Awarded to an officer for rising above the Best of the Best in the spirit of competition. The events must be sponsored by the approval of the Department. i.e.; Weapon Mastery, Sporting Events, Physical Activities, Rappel Mastery.

Honorable Discharge (Retired)

Awarded in recognition of an Officer who is eligible for retirement and/or entering new employment opportunities and has served the community during his period of service in an honorable fashion.
